About the Speakers:  Donna S. Haley, NYS Associate Safety & Health Trainer  has been a Safety and Health professional for over 20 years. She has worked as a loss prevention consultant and directly with safety and health issues in the construction and manufacturing sectors. Donna has worked for the New York State Department of Labor for 7 years in the Department of Safety and Health, serving both the public sector and private industry. Currently an Associate Safety & Health Trainer, Donna works with the On-Site Consultation Program which provides free on-site guidance to private employers to help businesses determinewhether they are in compliance with Federal safety and health standards and show them how to eliminate hazards that are found. Charlie York, OSHA Compliance Consultant of York Safety Solutions.  has been involved in many different aspects of safety throughout his career. He has a variety of on the job experience in general construction, general industry and the United States Marine Corps for over 25 years. His general construction experience has included responsibilities as steel fabricator, steel erector, drafter, project estimator, project coordinator, general manager, and vice president. On the general industry side, Charlie has managed everything from small fabrication shops to leading large projects in the chemical industry. Many responsibilities started from concept to completion, utilizing many contractors from various disciplines, working in a hazardous environment, and achieving over 1200 days with only one recordable injury. In addition, Charlie retired from the Marine Corps Reserves as a veteran of the Gulf War after twenty-one years of dedicated service. This unique blend of experience and leadership has proven to be extremely effective in improving the safety culture within an organization. This is mainly done by education, inspection and enforcement and requires a team approach to safety. Charlie’s passion for safety, integrity and leadership-by-example continues to strengthen organizations, while maintaining respectful, working relationships with employees and management alike. Thesequalities have been welcomed at every organization that places their emphasis onreducing employee at risk behavior and eliminating the potential for injuries.
